New Zealand college to hold counselling sessions today

KUCHING: Bruce Stevenson of St Thomas of Canterbury College, New Zealand will conduct student counselling sessions at NZ Centre here today from 2pm to 5pm.

St Thomas of Canterbury College is located in the city of Christchurch and near to the University of Canterbury.

Since its established in 1961 by the Christian Brothers, the college has gained a reputation for academic excellence in teaching.

It aims to provide a friendly, positive learning environment where students are encouraged to attain their potential through a wide range of academic, sporting and cultural activities.

St Thomas of Canterbury College is a Catholic college for boys from Year 7 to 13 (11 to 18 years old). The special Catholic character is central to the life of the college. It offers a wide range of subject choices which allows students to choose the best subjects for them. It has a maximum roll of 440 students, including international students, which allows to have small classes and to give each student individual care.

Students and parents are welcomed to meet Stevenson at the centre. This will be a great opportunity to talk and hear from him about the opportunities available at the college.

Students are encouraged to bring their certificates /results for assessment.
At the same time, Maeve Stevenson of the University of Canterbury will also be present to conduct student counselling sessions for the university's foundation and other courses.

The NZ Centre has recently been established in Kuching as an official representative for all New Zealand universities and a number of reputable colleges and schools. The centre is located next to the Carvery Restaurant on ground floor, Lot 2067, Jalan Utama, Pending, Kuching, opposite Telekom Malaysia.
